First ace of the day during the Senior 4-Man Scramble and Gary's first. The guys in the Shelby Oaks GC Monday morning senior league will enjoy the doughnuts on Gary for this one! Witnessed by his scramble team of Lowell Bok, Bob Card and Butch Scully. Celebrated by all of the Sidney Swingers.

Second ace of the day during the Senior 4-Man Scramble. At 75 years young, this was Tom's first ace and on the most difficult par 3 on the course. Since the rest of his team missed the green, they were thrilled to see Tom find the hole. The other members of Tom's team were Gary Bias, Jim Hoskin, and Tom Overly.

The third ace of the day and the fourth in Dan's career pulled his scramble team out of a 4-way tie to win the tournament at 14-under par on their final hole- the 13th. Teammates Chris Conley, Jeff Reames, and Steve Wycoff witnessed the hole in one and Mr. Conley's "double or nothing" closest to the pin wager. Chris was probably happy to pay up this time.

Kirk Helmandollar, Quincy Hole #9, 184 yards August 12, 2010
Five wood was the magic club for Kirk's ace on the ninth, witnessed by Bob Harmison. Kirk would like to give a special shout out to his former teaching pro Roy Hobson and all the guys who have repaired his broken clubs over the years. Kirk's ace proves the theory that the more you play, the better your chances are for a hole in one. |
Jessica Haley, Bellefontaine Hole #18, 156 yards July 2, 2010
Jessica scored her first ace with a 9-iron while playing with Lorri Besett. They saw the ball roll 5 yards and then disappear. Did that go in? All golfers please take note: Jessica actually repaired her ball mark before looking in the hole to see if it went in! Way to go Jessica... |
Joe Allen, Canal Winchester Hole #17, 200 yards June 17, 2010
That's right, Polka Joe's ace on the par 4, 17th hole was also a double eagle! This, his seventh hole in one, was accomplished using a driver. Joe was visiting for our Senior Traveler's tournament with friends from Pine Hill Golf Course: Don Feasel, Harold Wicker and Reno Robinett who also witnessed the feat. |
Ron Griffith, Russells Point Hole #7, 148 yards June 14, 2010
Congratulations to Ron, whose ace was witnessed by playing partners Fred Vest, Jack Innis, and Tom Cotterman. |
Rick Zerkle, West Liberty Hole #7, 155 yards May 11, 2010
Retire and get your first hole in one all in the same month... could life be any better? To quote Rick it was just "Bam Bam Boom... it was beautiful!" Playing in the Tuesday Pot Game league with partner Tom Whitaker (6 aces), Frank Vitt (1 ace), and Wayne Stevenson (still waiting)... we think this one might be good for a skin. |
Dean King, West Liberty Hole #13, 115 yards March 24, 2010
Dean thought he might not live long enough to see his first hole in one. R.L. Murphy was there to witness the blessed event and called it in all the way. Congratulations on the first ace of 2010! |
